The melding of the wards in our stake at the end of September was an interesting experience. I wasn't upset or sad or overjoyed. I was just interested in how it would all shake out. There were a couple of things that disappointed me (one being that the new D2 ward (the one I was split from) has my "old" D2 friends - and by "old" I mean the original D2 folks we had split from YEARS ago, like the Elmers, Morenos, Jones, Menloves, Johnsons, Chipmans, Dutsons, Paces, Haggartons, etc.). But you have organization in the church and you go where you are needed. The new G3 ward is wonderful - we have many new friends and we love our ward family already. The Christmas party, which was a breakfast with a visit from Santa Claus, was nice. Waffles were prepared for the masses (THAT is a trick!) and some even came in their pj's!
Colin came with Grandpa and Nana!
Then we headed out for the wild blue yonder - or Utah/Idaho to be specific. Hunter and Cameron were as cute as ever and always doing something! They were eating their gingerbread houses.....
Showing off belly buttons and playing....
Playing with the marble maze we got Hunter for Christmas (which seemed to be a family gift because they all played with it!)......
And playing who knows what with Papa (probably "where is your belly button?).
The we headed off to Idaho and fun with Logan and Lexi. I got a kick out of Lexi and her impromptu party for her stuffed animals.
I like how the very littlest of them shared the little chair!
Logan had a holiday orchestra program we were fortunate to see. Here is Logan when the director asked them to stand for parent pictures. The ornery little dude purposely put his viola in front of his face! Every time Jamie and I moved to take a picture, he would turn so we couldn't see his face!
It was very sweet to see him play with the group. Logan is growing up!
Lexi and I spent time playing games. She's very good, so be warned. She beat me in Uno and in dominoes.
Gingerbreak houses were made, too. Grandma Carol bought the kits and we put them together (we made her help a little, too!).
Can you tell Papa helped Logan with his?
Christmas morning was fun. The kids aren't supposed to go downstairs until they are given permission. Both the kids were patient, much to my surprise. Lexi is always patient, but Logan has certainly developed a lot in that area! They didn't have to wait long and when they did get downstairs, they had a great surprise. Santa brought Lexi a new bike and Logan an electric scooter!!
It was fun watching them open their gifts.
One Saturday the boys (Jon, Logan, Papa and Papo (Jamie's Dad)) went shooting. I think they all had a great time!
A little snow came our way while we were there. The kids got to play in the snow some....
...but Logan's time was cut short when he got sick. Poor dude - sick the day before New Year's Eve!
Spending Christmas and New Year's there was great and too soon the time came to come home. But....when we got here, look who we saw!!
We had Bremen come over and to say Cameron was happy to see him is an understatement. Cameron loves Bremen!
Bremen learned from Cameron and quickly showed his Mom some love, too!
It was a great ending of 2012 and a great beginning of 2013! Let's all show each other the love in the coming year!
