Marching on Down the Road...

One of my favorite things to do is play Scrabble.  Even way back when doing it the old-school way of putting tiles on the board and manually adding your score!  Now, with the technology we have, I can play anytime, anywhere, with anyone as long as I have an internet connection!  I play Scrabble on a regular basis with my sister, Elaine, and friend, Kelly.  It’s usually pretty intense…until you get letters like this, and then every play is like wading through molasses!

Another favorite is going out to eat with visitors!  Even better when they are your kid!  Kevin drove over from Cali to attend Bremen’s Boy Scout Court of Honor.  It was a great evening and Kevin then hops in the car and drove back home!

Speaking of favorites, family birthdays have to rate right up there!  This guy had a birthday – thought you wouldn’t mind seeing Raelynn, too!

Oh, heck, everything having to do with family is my favorite, so I’ll quit using that word!

So, on to some really big Easter eggs!  Ever seen any that big?!  They had fun!

Random picture of one of our dinners, just for fun!  We had stuffed meatballs (mozzarella cheese in the middle of those big guys), pasta, asparagus and Texas toast.

We were lucky to have Ryan and Bremen spend some time with us over spring break.  They played some Wii and killed me in Five Crowns.  I vow to get even with them!

They headed out early in the morning to go fishing with Papa.

Bremen looks like he might have caught a decent one!

Papa spent some time making some shields and swords for Hunter and Cameron.  I think they like them!

There was a winter guard performance of Caitlin’s we were able to attend.  She smiles so bright in her performances – I love seeing her expressions!  I have yet to capture a good photo of her in motion – darn it!

Colored some more eggs with Kenna and Kaytie while their big sister was have her own adventure (sleepover, Disneyland, who can remember!).  We played and we opened our Easter treat bags and we laughed.  These two are so good together and they  make me smile all the time!

When there is an almost 1 year old around, you can bet there is going to be practice sessions while learning to walk!  She has almost got it!

If Raelynn’s around, you can bet her silly brothers aren’t too far away!

Another birthday was celebrated in March – Stuart’s!!

And the same time he was celebrating another year, he was adding to his family!  Not a child – a dog!  Porche is the sweetest Maltipoo!  She doesn’t bark, looks like she’s smiling all of the time and is light as a feather – all great attributes in my book!  Jack is head over heels for his little girl!

Let’s bring back that word favorite.  Because spring is my very favorite time of the year.  Everything is starting new growth, the citrus blossoms fill the air with a beautiful aroma, flowers are loving the weather and baby birds are chirping.  Well, when they make it.  See these eggs?

There were four beautiful little eggs in there.  They did hatch.  One day they were there, the next they were gone.  WAY too soon for them to fly.  Something got to them and I don’t know how.  This nest was right by our carport door and we deferred to mama bird and used our front door to keep her stress level down.  She was pretty protected.  So how her little chicks disappeared is a mystery.  It was sad.

But I had my flowers to perk me up!  Have I told you how much I love spring!?!

But there is one thing I did miss this spring because we stayed in Arizona the whole time.  This family;

We’ll see them at the end of June, though!!  And I can’t wait!

Down the February Road

Boy did February start out fun!  On the 1st of February, we went to watch one of Ryan’s wrestling matches.  He wrestles for Sossaman Jr. High.  I have never been to a wrestling match before and I found myself really getting into it!  He gave it his all, but the other guy won in the two matches he had.  I will say that both the other guys were at least 6 inches taller than Ryan – and that can make a difference!

By the way, Alena's birthday was on the 1st!

Then, Lexi had a birthday on the 5th!  She is a whole 9 years old now.  We weren’t there for her birthday (sniff, sniff), but we sure celebrated long-distance with her!

And on the 6th, we spent time with some cute girlies!  Kaytie was really into playing with Papa this time!

On the 10th, this beautiful girl turned 19!  Where has the time gone?  Wasn’t Kailee just entering high school a few short years ago?

A couple of days before Valentine’s Day, Dave and I decided to celebrate the day a couple days ahead of the crowds.  We started out the day with breakfast at Black Bear Restaurant and then took a drive up to Saguaro Lake.  It was such a beautiful day!

We ended our day with dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  My Valentine – I think I’ll keep him!

And guess what?  Shane had a birthday right here in the middle of the month!  The family birthday reminder is full in February!!

In other non-birthday related news, Ryan is still doing karate and doing well!  He is such a cute kid!!

Bremen had another band concert, too!  I did not get very good pictures.  Fortunately for me, there will be another concert so I can try again!

And let’s end this run with a random picture of my handsome nephew, Brian!  Love that guy!

I really do love all these people in my life and the joy they bring.  I cannot imagine doing without any one of them!   (February IS the month of love, so maybe that’s why the sappy factor is up right now!)
