Life is Good!

Today I was Betty Crocker, Susy Homemaker, Molly Mormon - call me what you will. I cleaned, did 6 loads of laundry, fixed cinnamon rolls for breakfast (OK - they came from a tube - but still, the point is Dave and I got up at the same time today and I made him breakfast - he usually gets up at the crack of dawn!), prepared a wonderul chef salad for dinner and even experimented with making a new recipe for blackberry cobbler. Here it is:

Apparently, I should have used a bigger pan! Oh well, it tasted great. Anyway, I was pretty tuckered out from my day of activity and felt a little like this this woman!

But, then I was rejuvenated by going to Ryan's T-ball game. Those are THE best!! There isn't any better entertainment and the price is right! Ryan has fun - here he is playing 3rd base:

After a couple rounds there, he told the coach, "I want to play in the middle." What he wanted was to be able to run after the ball! (If you have trouble seeing Ryan, he's always the one who doesn't have his shirt tucked in!)

Getting a picture of him at bat is tricky - you'd better get the shot on the first try because he HITS the ball on the first try every time!

It was a wonderful treat to sit and watch Ryan play ball after a very productive day. I liked my day . Ordinary activities though they were, caring for my family and being entertained by family always makes me feel fulfilled. Hope you had a day that made you feel as content as my day did for me!

C-R-A-Z-Y Week!!

There's been so much going on in the last week that I don't know where to start! How about this:

Wendy and Shane are engaged!! Like the ring? OK, it's not the REAL ring - that's being sized. But take it from me, it's gorgeous. Guess I was one of the lucky ones that got to see the ring before it was taken in for sizing!

Then there was this:

Poor Bill fell off a ladder at work and really messed himself up! He dislocated his shoulder, bruised ribs, and broke his wrist, badly. Just yesterday he had surgery and has over a half-dozen screws in his wrist. If you wonder why he's smiling - my guess is pain killers!

And let's not forget our break during the crazy week when we got to go stay with this crazy guy:

They named him appropriately - Jack in the box - one of his favorite things to do!!

And then I had THIS taking up my brain space all week and most of my Friday and Saturday:

The Pinewood Derby was a lot of fun - and I don't think I was the only one that had fun. I think the boys did, too!

After that was over, we got to go to this guy's party:

Ryan got a DS for his birthday from Mom and Dad. As you can see, the other guys were having fun playing Little Big Planet on the huge TV screen. Ryan, meanwhile, has his nose in the DS - most of the pictures I took after he opened that have him with his head down playing the DS. Must have been the favorite gift, don't ya think?

And, to cap it off, Sunday evening I had a leadership meeting for which I had to have two presentations ready! Whew - stick a fork in me, I'm done!!

But hang on....there's more!! Oh...well...I'll let THEM be the ones to do the introductions. Guess you'll just have to wait!! Or go here and see for yourself!!

It's been a CRAZY week - but a WONDERFUL week. (OK, the part about Bill isn't so great - but at least he's able to smile about it!) I have been so happy, so blessed, so full of joy and gratitude that this week rates as one of the best in my life!! (But not in Bill's - hey, we have pain that we might know joy, right?) Hope your week was better than Bill's and as great as mine!

APPROXIMATE DATE OF DISAPPEARANCE: April 15, 2009

LAST SEEN: Was spotted for a few hours on April 16, 2009, with this guy, Jack, aka Jack-man:

SUSPECTED REASON FOR DISAPPEARANCE: His brother, Terry, retired from SRP and was officially not working as of Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 4:00 p.m. that day, Dave and Terry took off and have only been sited briefly for said rendevouz with the Jack-man and it has been reported that the restrooms in Cathi's house have their fingerprints present. Rumor has it they may be headed to the Sycamore Creek area on Friday morning in search of antlers, horns, anything else an elk or deer may have shed in the recent weeks.

If you have any information about their activities, please keep me informed. It may be the only way I'll find out what they're doing!!

Easter = Lambson Gathering!

Neither rain nor hail nor blustery winds will stop the Lambson Easter Gathering from occuring! With the weather being a little uncooperative, we were unsure whether we'd be able to carry on with our planned egg extravaganza and food frenzy. But, we did it! The skys had mercy and it only sprinkled a little - mostly after everyone had at least gotten a plate of food. The kids had a great time. It's fun to let the cousins (first and first, once-removed) play together. We appreciate Jared and Tricia for jumping in and hosting the festivities.

BATTER UP!!

I've been waiting...and waiting. It seemed rude of me to steal somebody else's thunder. But how long do you wait for someone to post something before you give up and do it yourself? Well, I don't know the proper answer, but I've waited over a week! Charlotte has not posted anything about Ryan's new baseball career. Actually, she hasn't posted anything since before Christmas. So I am!!

Watching Ryan's T-ball games has been great entertainment. You will always find something that will make you laugh during the games. It could be a pile of boys trying to get the ball (sometimes they need reminding it's "baseball" and not "football"). Or the player that isn't really into the game and is playing in the dirt. Or how about last night when Ryan hit the ball down the first base line and the guy on first base grabbed the ball. No problem, you say? Well, the guy who grabbed the ball was Ryan's teammate who should have been running to second base! Oh, yes, I love these games!!

Double Score on Saturday!

Sweet day, for sure! Conference was on Saturday and Jack came to visit with Grammie and Papa for a while Saturday!






Jack liked the singing and he like President Uchtdorf - a lot!






















We played while we watched. He'd run up and down the hall. Then we pulled out all the toys and were having a lot of fun...until he disappeared for a while. This is where Jack was sitting and then he wasn't - for quite a while.







See, he had been running in and checking on Papa in the family room while we were in the "play" room. He wasn't gone very long each time, until this time. The reason you ask?





He found this:





And the person responsible for aiding in his delinquent habit? Papa. As a consequence for their poor choice, they had to take out the garbage. Maybe the big one will think twice about being a supplier for the little addict's habit next time!

On to Utah!!

We always have fun in Utah! I love hanging out with Patrick and Heather - playing new games (I loved the new card game), getting introduced to new shows (Burn Notice really IS good!), cooking, going out to eat, just kickin' back. Well, ONE of us does some kickin' back, the other one always finds something to do! As evidenced by these:

We were lucky enough to be in Utah for David Ray's 30th birthday. It was a lot of fun helping Shannon with her suprise party. We love getting to spend time with them. OK, it probably has something to do with the cute kids they have, but they are a package deal!

We are anxiously awaiting our return trip to Utah - by that time we'll have a really important person to visit!!! (Not that you AREN'T important, Patrick, but it's not you I'm talking about!)

More Idaho Adventure

As promised, here are more pictures of the Idaho portion of our trip!


We took a ride up north and saw some of the countryside. We stopped at the river and walked around. Throwing rocks in the river and collecting a big stick were the highlights!

Seems as though Easter Egg activities are always in season whenever Logan and I are together. This time, his beloved Cow got to hunt for eggs. It was Logan's idea to take pictures of Cow hunting eggs and the posing of Cow with Dog and all the eggs.

We always play games - with "Logan Rules," of course. (That means he makes up the rules as we go along - sort of like Calvin ball, if you've ever read Calvin and Hobbes.) When playing "Logan Rules" you might as well resign yourself to never winning. Seems as though his rules are hard to beat! We played his version of Farkle, Uno and Star Wars Trivia. Interestingly enough, he made up questions to ask from Star Wars that I did not know the answers to. OK, that's not saying much, but still.

We had a great time and, as always, can't wait to go back again!!
