Late, But Worth It!

I had been waiting for Jack's Mom to post about his birthday - didn't want to steal her thunder! Finally, she did and now I can showcase some of the day. One of the most comical parts of the party was his love of the drink shaker Kevin, Marcy and Bremen gave him (part of a gag gift). You can see in these pictures he is not letting go of it, or at least the lid, for anything.

Then, somewhere along the way, Ryan got a hold of the shaker, and Jack noticed right away - and he wasn't going to let it slide!

All is right with his world again!

He had a wonderful time messing up his cake, as evidenced by the looks of it when he is done with it!

And to make sure nothing goes to waste, Caitlin and Ryan helped eat what was left of the cute little cake!

We had a lot of fun and the bonus to the day was 1) it was Karen's birthday and we got to celebrate with her, too and 2) we got to meet Heather's friend from Canada, Chelsea! (By the way, Jack was in love with Chelsea - like a LOT - I saw him refuse to go to his Mom from her!)

Mmm-Mmm Good!

That's what Papa's fudge is, mmm-mmm good! The only reason we had to wash the spoon when Bremen got done was to sanitize it - there wasn't any fudge left!!

Yippee!!

Hurray!! Hurrah!! Guess who's here?? Yessiree, Kevin arrived in the states last night! And bonus - we got him all to ourselves until Monday afternoon when his wife and son get back from their trip to Idaho. We got to spoil him a little and he in turn baked for us. (I am anxiously awaiting the blackberry tart that is cooling on the counter right now!!)

Can I tell you how much we miss him when he's not here? He's a unique individual that can antagonize me and make me smile all at the same time! Life is not boring when Kevin's around!! So, if anyone knows of a great job that pays a ridiculous amount of money that we could plug him into, let me know - that may be the only way to get him to come home for good!

Grandpa

A while back, Dave's Dad was visiting. (Well, actually he stayed with us for almost 2 weeks before he had bypass surgery and then he stayed with Terry and Cathi while he recuperated from bypass surgery. So, yes, he was "visiting" - it just wasn't the reason for his stay!) Anyway, I digress. We had the opportunity to get some pictures of the kids with their Grandpa/Great-Grandpa. I hadn't shared those with you yet, so here they are!

It's nice for the kids to get to know their Great-Grandpa. He lives in New Mexico and they don't get to see him that often. A relationship with a great-grandparent is something not every child gets to experience. Many years later they'll be glad they took the opportunity to visit him and have their picture taken with him - even if some of them are too young to remember!

Mamma Mia Mania - yup, that's what I'm experiencing. Heading off in a few to see it AGAIN! Here's some music to let you know what you're missing if you're not going!!

OK - I'm back. Guess what? I'm not officially over the edge yet. But Karen is. This was her FOURTH time going! Had an absolute blast - there were nine of us (one brave guy - I'm sure you'll see pictures of him on someones blog). I'd go again. May have to get another group to go with - not sure this one will want to go with me again. Let's just say I would have taken pictures, but I didn't want to be a spectacle in the movie theater (hee hee hee)!! Tricia, I'll go anywhere with you!!!!
