For the past two weeks I've not been taking the time to share my thoughts with everyone - that's because we had to prepare for the Lambson Family Reunion, a gathering of Frank Bates and Annie Laurie Mangum Lambson families. It was in Ramah, New Mexico, where the "elders" of the family grew up and where they purchased land for an annual reunion. Look at the map to the left to see where we were!
Our branch of the family (Dave, his brothers and sisters) "hosted" the reunion this year - that translates into we did most of the work to make sure everyone had a good time and was fed. The feeding part was made easier by Howard Lambson, Dave's cousin, who took the lead in getting the beef off the hoof, into the pit and into our stomaches! Well, most stomaches - mine couldn't take it after assisting with the deboning and fat separating chore.

These are the descendents of George Oran Lambson, a son of Frank Bates Lambson, who attended the reunion - Gail, Dawn, Rebecca, George (the dad), Dave, Jim, Terry. The two absent children, Connie and Carmen, were greatly missed. But coming from Texas and Pennslvania takes a lot of planning. (Gail came from Oregon - he gets brownie points!)
There are a lot of stories to tell - but I'll save them for later. Suffice to say we are back, we have showered and we are rested! More pictures will be shared soon!
