And Then Came October...

We've packed a lot of activity in the last month! Let's start with one of my favorite things - little Cub Scouts!!

Bremen got his Bobcat at Pack Meeting. I love how his Grandpa's were able to take part in the "branding" of the Bobcat!

What 8-year old doesn't need help putting the pin on his Mom?

When Kevin came to visit, we went bowling one day. Because there wasn't a lane available immediately, Bremen got to play in the gaming area for a while. (Personally, I think it's a racket - they conveniently tell you it will be about 30 minutes for a lane to open, which is just enough time to blow a nice amount of cash!) He did have fun, though!

And, we actually did get to bowl.

Cathi and I did some canning. We got some Utah peaches and we made spiced peaches. Apparently my Mother-in-law did this years ago, because that was what was requested by her sons! (Cathi also made some peach salsa. Amazing!) Even had enough peaches left for a yummy peach cobbler - yum.

Pumpkin carving made the "to do" list. (No, Bremen isn't eating pumpkin guts - he's working on a Jamba Juice while his Dad works on the pumpkin!)

It is one big pumpkin!

One of the best days of October, thus far, for me was the 14th. Dave and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary! We've started our 23rd year together!!
Sometimes it seems impossible that it has been that long ago we were married. Sometimes it seems like we've always been together. Guess that is what a loving marriage feels like - every day is a new adventure with a friend you feel like you've had forever! We spent the day exploring the valley by traveling the Metro and had lunch in downtown Phoenix at a place we used to frequent when we worked downtown. We topped the day off by visiting the Gilbert Temple construction site.

When I told Dave to turn around so I could take a picture, this is what I got. Serves me right for putting him right in the sun!

The Gilbert Temple is going to be beautiful. Eternal marriage is beautiful. I love October.
