As I was watching one of my favorite shows - Don't Forget the Lyrics - I started thinking about all the Doobie Brothes songs I could probably make it through. This was a band with chart toppers one right after another. Their songs were some of the favorites I sang with a group from school - I think there were 6 of us (too long ago to remember!). But the one thing I remember most about them is my Mom actually liked them too! One song we did was "Blackwater" and Mom really liked that song when we performed. I always thought it was cool my Mom actually liked at least one song I listened to! One parent down - one to go. My Dad absolutely hated the long-hair bands of my day. Watching any of them on TV with Dad was torture - he couldn't help making comments during the whole show. It was better to not watch if he was home. Hmmm...mabye that was his strategy. Anyway, here's to reminiscing. Long live the Doobie Brothers!

The Doobie Brothers are FANTASTIC. I always sang China Grove with my dad, but I have to admit I have no idea what the song is about and I would lose on Don't forget the Lyrics with almost ALL songs.
