I Told You So...

Those are words most people don't like to hear. But, sometimes they are the only words that convey adequately your feelings. This past weekend we went camping with our friends, Yoshi and Nancy. We left Friday and headed up to the Willow Springs Lake area. A lot of planning went into this trip, menus were developed, games gathered, times discussed, etc. As we neared the departure date, I was worried about the weather. After all, monsoon season has arrived! I guess I expressed my worries too many times - Dave actually accused me of praying for rain!! Well, Friday evening was fine - it rained Friday afternoon on the way up to camp, but the evening was fine. Saturday morning was great - Dave and Yoshi fished early Saturday morning while Nancy and I enjoyed nature and naps! But, at noon things turned ugly. Here's a little project Dave and Yoshi worked on...

Yup, it was raining so hard they needed to dig trenches to divert the water away from the tents!

Saturday afternoon rains lead into Saturday evening rains. We were doing our best to have a good time! We played many games of Farkel - first time for Yoshi and he won a lot!

Then Sunday morning came and the rains were not leaving anytime soon. So, we pack up to head out.

As we drag our soggy bodies out of the rainy area of the rim country, I look at the horizon and this is what I see...

At that point, I can't help but say...I told you so!

Next year you need to go "camping" at the cabin.

Even though you had a soggy time camping, I can't help but feel a tiny bit jealous. I love the rain, and that last picture you put up of the trees and rain is gorgeous. Sometimes the worst trips make the best stories later on when you go back and remember.

Happy belated birthday Laura. I know it was yesterday. I hope your birthday was better than your soggy camping trip.
