The Elephant is Done!

This last bite brings us to present day - the elephant has been eaten!  But first, let's talk about Christmas! ; )

This year I did a few homemade things!  I was really excited to make Barbie dresses!!  My dear mother-in-law makes the most beautiful dresses and she taught me a little of her handicraft.  We had quite a few tutorial sessions and this is some our work.

The cream dress was mostly made by the Mom - but I did help with the trim!!  The others had much more work done by me - in fact the green dress and the wedding dress with the bow at the waist were done completely by me.  The other wedding dress had help in the sleeves and the bodice.  Many others were made, but you would have been bored with all the pictures!

I also made magnets for all the families - each family got a set of 15 magnets, all the grandkids!  They were really fun to make!  The only problem is I didn't make a set for me!  Guess that's on my "to do" list!

Right after Christmas we got the opportunity to spend a few days with Hunter and Cameron while their Mom and Dad went on a short trip to celebrate their 10th anniversary!  They had a great time - but so did we!!

I love how much they love their Papa!!

And then Bremen spent some time here working on his Pinewood Derby car.

Really...his did work on his car....some.

While Bremen's car was in production, Jack had his done and was ready to race in his first Pinewood Derby!!  He won an award for the "Most Classic Car."  He was pretty proud!!

The same weekend, we celebrated Kendal's 4th birthday!  Her birthday was earlier in the month, but at that age, you don't care when you celebrate - just that you DO celebrate!!

Then, after all the work and preparation, Bremen's Pinewood Derby day arrived!  He did a great job on the painting!  The hard work of Bremen and Papa paid off - he came in 3rd in his pack and got to go to the Stake races!  He got a trophy - a great way to end his Pinewood Derby career!!

That yellow streak coming in first in that heat is Bremen's car!!!

Got to spend a day chillin' with Kenna!  She is such a fun little girl to spend time with - she is a cuddle bug!!

Papa stopped by to see us - and that made Kenna happy!  She loves Papa!  And they love sticking their tongues out at each other!

Then Kendal got home from preschool and joined in on the fun.  She wanted to take "silly pictures" and send the to her Mom at work.

I promise that string wasn't up her nose - she was faking it for the pictures!

And we played with stickers, too!

Always have fun when I'm with these two girlies!!

We'll end this feast of pictures with one of the Gilbert Temple.  Dave and I both have had the opportunity to serve as this beautiful temple was open to the public for tours before being dedicated March 2nd.  It is beyond description - the architecture, the furnishings, the colors all combine for the most beautiful experience.  As was said in some of our prayer meetings before our shift of service began, "let the Temple speak for itself - it will bring a feeling of peace and calm that all who enter will be able to feel."  It did just that.  Can't wait to go after the dedication and bring that feeling of peace and calm to someone who has gone before me.
