We Made the Most of Summer!
We packed a lot in to finish off summer!
See that Evinrude back there? Yeah, the black thing with
white lettering. Caused a ruckus that
morning. Seems as though a snake was
somehow on that thing and came crawling out!
Yes, it was a little snake. Yes,
I screamed like a girl. But guess
what? After we get home and researched the
darn thing, it WAS poisonous! So there –
I was RIGHT to be afraid and scream!
Jack had a birthday! He's such a squid lover. And not just any squid - has to be a colossal squid. He loved his cake!
Canyon Lake on an early summer morning is beautiful! We sure enjoyed touring the lake and throwing
a line in occasionally.

At the end of August, we took out on an adventure. Terry, Cathi, Dave and I headed to
Oregon! Everyone was anxious to go see
brother Gail and we were really going to enjoy time out of the heat. So much so that on a vote of 3 to 1 it was
decided we would drive all night long and spend our first night in a hotel in
northern California!! (Yup, I voted no –
who can really sleep in a car?!) But we
did make it to Redding, CA, shorting after noon the day after we left. It was a nice little town. It had this cool sundial bridge and we went
there shortly before sunset.
We headed out the next day to Grants Pass, OR, to see our nephew, Ryan, and his family. We toured the
Fire Mountain Bead factory while we were there.
Sorry we didn't get a picture of Ryan – but we did of the rest of his family! Loved spending some time with Cheryl, Luke, Asha and Chloe!
Coquille, OR, or more specifically, the road that Gail lives on is so green! You’ll have to believe me because I didn’t take one picture of the yard this time! But I did take pictures of Gail’s grandkids and the fish the guys caught!
We had such a wonderful trip, but it’s so much more than you
can put in one post! Check out the next
post – it will be all pictures, no words!!

Joyous July!!
Here are the sparkling moments of July!
Went on a date with Lexi to the mall. Going to Build-A-Bear workshop with her was a delightful day!
Going to lunch with her on that same date was great as far as spending time with her. Her culinary choices need to be enlarged - McDonald's was the place! She ended her lunch with a chocolate dipped cone - that may have been her ulterior motive!
Lexi was supposed to be practicing her bike riding skills. Guess she wanted to perfect her riding skills first!
The morning of the 4th of July started with the annual ward breakfast and bike parade. Lexi wasn't confident in her skills so she decorated her scooter! Logan just wanted to ride his electric scooter with no decoration. It was a beautiful morning for all the activities.
Lexi and I did a couple of "selfies!"
We started the evening celebration early - with yard-cluttering poppers!!
Logan is getting so good at lighting the fireworks! Pretty soon his Dad can sit back and just enjoy the show!
The fireworks were awesome and we had a great show!
The Grandpas got to clean up after it was all over!
We had a tea party with the bunny from Build-A-Bear. Yeah, it was a bunny, not a bear. And notice the cute clothes we got for the bunny are absent. Guess it was an "au-naturel" tea party! And if that wasn't weird enough, Steve from Minecraft joined us!!
Logan treated us to a little concert!
As we left Idaho, I came home with a priceless treasure! Carol (Jamie's Mom) made me the most beautiful quilt. It is gorgeous and has a minky backing. It is as soft as a baby's blanket! This quilt I will treasure forever!
Back home in Arizona I got treated to these selfies on my phone! These boys are so cute! I have about a dozen and a half of these in my gallery!
And of course, we had to see the princesses!!
Have I told you how much I love Kenna's curls!? Or how much I love holding sleeping babies?!
July WAS joyous!!
