The End of May Days!

May was an exciting month!  We had the wonderful trip to Texas, traveling with Jim and Karen.  They went to see Jared and his family while we were visiting with my family.  It was a great time and I will always remember our road trip!!

When we got back, I didn't have long to be mope around and be sad - Patrick, Heather, Hunter and Cameron came to the valley for her sister's graduation and Kevin came for Bremen's birthday!

A trip to the zoo was fun.  Papa and I took Kendal and we spent the day with Hunter and Cameron and their entourage.

A couple of those people in the pic, right behind Heather, don't belong to our group, bu the rest do!  Here is what they were watching:

Miss Kendal is sporting her classy Arizona look, while the Utah boys are seeking refuge in the misters.  They can't take the heat!

Hunter and Cameron are kickin' back and enjoying some Angry Birds fruit snacks!

At the petting zoo, Kendal had to brush EVERY goat.  Not kidding.  She is an equal opportunity brusher!!

At the playground, the kids had a great time.  It was fun to see the littlest grandkids play together!

I think they liked each other.  Hunter showed Kendal the cousin love!!

Cameron is going to get in on the action, too!

After we got home, Kendal was playing with her doll and changing her diaper.  Guess she's getting ready for her baby sister!  While we were at the zoo, Wendy texted a picture of the sonogram she had taken that day.  I showed it to Kendal and she said, "Awwwwe...that's Mommy's baby.  It comed out!"  I had to explain that it had not come out yet - we were just getting a picture of the baby still in Mommy's tummy.

And, we also had fun at Bremen's birthday party.  He certainly celebrated his birthday - had a swimming party with friends at the pool and then had a family/friend lunch and water party at home!

Hunter joined in water fun!

Caitlin came to the party, too.  She hates her picture taken, but I caught her by surprise.  Tried to get two, but she's a quick one!

Everyone had a good time and we loved celebrating Bremen together!  Bremen doesn't sit still for pictures, so that's why you don't see too many of him here.  But this guy will gladly give you a pose, so we'll end with him - handsome little man don't you think?!

(Oops - got 2 pictures in there.  Oh well, you decide which little man is the handsome one!)

We interrupt this chronologically presented blog to bring you a news flash!  We went to Wendy's tonight to learn whether or not her baby is a boy or a girl.

Here's the cake before we cut it...

Here's the cake after the first cut...

The score will now be 9 girls, 6 boys.

Texas Time!

Before moving on, I've got to share my time in Texas - it was so great!  When we arrived, we got our first peek at the house!  It is in a beautiful setting.

This is the foyer of the home - you know you're in Texas when you have the Lone Star on the front door!

And then you are in the family room - which I could sit in forever and never want to leave...

but what takes your breath away is when you walk into the foyer, which is opposite of the windows you see above, this is what you see!

Here's the up close and personal view!

But this wasn't my favorite feature - it was on a list of several favorites!  The back patio and deck were gorgeous!  We spent a lot of time out on the deck.  Not kidding - sat out there before getting dressed in the morning and ended the evening out there.

The vegetation you see by the deck above is not a bush - those are the tops of trees!  The deck is built out over the edge of the cliff!

But it wasn't all relaxation, well, at least for Dave.  He and Bro-in-law Dave got some manual labor time in - they cut down a dead tree next to the property.  Even when working, the scenery is beautiful!

The scenery also includes some wild animals!  We saw turkey and aoudad sheep.  Right out the dining room window one evening a group of young sheep came traipsing across the back patio!  I was too afraid to move and spook them to go get the camera.  It was breathtaking!  I did get a picture of the turkey!

On the flip side, some other breathtaking creatures showed up - but not in the "good" breathtaking way!  I have no idea what this is, some sort of Texas walking stick maybe, but there were several of them and they are huge!!  We estimated the largest at about 8 inches - and I used the zoom to take the picture, wasn't getting really close to find out how they might attack!

And.....another surprise was in store.  My nephew from Houston came up and surprised both Marce and I!!  He is such a sweetheart that he made the 5+ hour trip and walked in right when everyone was getting up on Saturday morning!  I love that boy.

This was a trip that will last forever in my memory!!  Full of good times with good people - it just doesn't get any better than this!
