Idaho Happenings

Spring break in Idaho has become a tradition for us.  We travel so far to visit that it doesn't seem like much of a visit when Logan is in school, so we try to go when the majority of his time he is free!  This year, his daycare provider had scheduled a lot of fun things to do during spring break.  Logan wanted to go, but the stipulation was I had to go with them.  Fortunately Miss Jenice is a sweet person and doesn't mind me tagging along!  So we went....

...to the zoo

...and to the MK Nature Center (Papa went on this one - gotta go see all the critters!)

...and to the aquarium, such as it was.

Logan had earned a pass for 4 people to the Peregrine World Center for Birds of Prey, so we took two of his friends, Charlie and Noah, with us on this outting.  It was interesting to see the big, lighted display of the migration seasons and to see the big buzzard, hawk, whatever it was up close and personal.  At one point, the handler let the bird go and it lands on the bench between the spectators.  Logan was right by the bench and at first wasn't to sure about being that close, but only for a second.  And, hey, if you're going to a bird center, what better shirt to wear, huh!

Since Easter was coming soon, we had a little egg coloring fun!!

Logan is also back to Tae Kwon Do.  Between that and cub scouts, the boy has a busy week!

The icing on the cake for us this trip was getting to go to Logan's Pinewood Derby.  And, yeah, Papa and Dad worked on the car.  There was also a car for Lexi and a car for Papa - they weren't regulation, though.  Papa made his out of a solid piece of wood so it wouldn't need weights.  After the races were over, Logan got to compete against Papa and Lexi.  Yeah...he won.  Logan's car won every single heat he was in!  They calculated the average speed of his car and it was 155.7 miles per hour!  Needless to say, he won his den race and he won overall for all the dens!!  To say he was happy is quite the understatement.

It was a great spring break - I think the kids had fun and I know we did!!
