Just a Few Things

There have been some great activities in our life that I haven't mentioned and I want to before too much time passes.

Seems as though we have a somewhat filled schedule in our days even though neither one of us punches a clock anymore. We do love to take time to attend the grandkids events and are always, let me repeat - always, glad we did. Here are a couple of recent events ---

Kailee's cheering again this year. She's also doing her competition cheer and doing great! They're winning competitions right and left - just haven't been able to get to one of those yet. (Yeah, that's Kendal in the middle - she has to support her big sister!)

Bremen ran in his last running club race of the year. He was 206 out of over 500 boys. Great job for a 2nd grader!

Dave also has been making some great stuff. Here's a picture of one of his latest creations. It's a blesbock antelope horn with a giraffe bone spacer.

(Don't critique the photography - I ain't no Annie Leibovitz!)

1 DOWN, 11 TO GO

I cannot believe that we have already gone through the first month of 2011! There is a strange phenomenon that happens as you get older - time flies by. It's true. Used to be I'd wonder where the day had gone, then the week, and later on marvel at the month that flew by. I'm having a hard time coming to grips that it's February of 2011 - I wasn't done with 2010 yet! I had so much more I wanted to do!

(But, after attending a Stake Women's Conference last Saturday, I'm pretty sure those things I wanted to do won't matter. I'm sure they were in the category of "nice-to-do" and not in the essential (prayer, scripture, sacrament, temple, service, etc.) and necessary (homemaking, family time, FHE, etc.) things to do for our eternal happiness.)

So, instead of dwelling on what didn't get done, I'll worry about making the most of the here and now! I'll make sure the essentials get done and the necessary is taken care of. And I'll be aware of the beauty around me. Like this sunset.

And I'll be thankful that I don't live in places where the snow gets this deep! (Although I used to - this is my sister's back porch and her 4 year old grandson standing there. And for the record - he's short.)
